Zoom meetings
by molybdenum inbeing pimo i attend the meetings regularly over zoom.
( i have to as my wife is a dyed -in - the wool, and stick-in-the mud pioneer witness.
i have no possibility of leaving as it would create havoc in my life and at 68 years of age i just don't want the hassle of having to cope with the ramifications of disassociating myself.

I too am a spineless coward, same situation. I seldom " dress appropriately" and stay off camera as much as possible. Open the meeting, then can peruse other sights. Sometimes look up misused/pronounced words or fact check. Sometimes I rest my eyes. The chatter before reminds me of an insane asylum. More each meeting seem to have no picture on. Using a laptop there is little detail but I look at decorations. So far no xmas trees or pics of MLK or flags but you never know. I really want to set up in the den and have a gun hanging on the wall.
The bday is no big deal for me, I just have to check for expirations

Except it sounds like a 1936 movie or captain kangaroo now
We did have a convention speaker everyone loved. He sounded and acted like a black Pentecostal revival preacher but nobody seems to catch on

Who Is To Blame For the World's Insanity? Not The Leaders But Their Followers
by The Bethelite inthere are 1000's of wacked out ideas on the planet.. a crazy little man with a mustache in a beer hall in munich germany in 1923 had some crazy ideas for sure....he starting with a dozen people who thought his insanity was a good idea.
in just 22 years his insanity effected the entire world with millions dead.
he duped 95 million germans alone...who thought his insanity was a good idea.. another crazy little man with a beard, started in the basement of a church in pennsylvania in the1870's.

Someine takes a little power and consolidates it. Then the masses are given a choice from those only.
That quote is actually from Pogo drawn by Walt Kelly

Not really. I thought it was TV. Wife was listening to some update or such when I walked by and heard the accent and inflection. I do not know who it was, or care.
What gets me us they seem to idolize some of the leaders and use them for reading. To convey information to the US you need no regional accents, slang or such. In England, Australia, India use someone else.
Once again it seemed to be experiences someone had where in one week they accomplished more than a whole congregation does in a year.

Are We Now Living in a POST-Science world (at least politically?)
by Terry inif your sex is only what you say it is, without any reference to biological reality, .
your race can be only what you say it is, without any reference to biological reality.. .
is this repudiation of science?

You forgot the W and Z chromosomes.
As for climate, it has always changed, the problem is how to deal with it without causing mass unrest.
Side note: science says African Americans react differently to medicine. Look up octoroon. Personally I am a septaroon, put that in your math science conondrum

A lot of us are here because everything freddy wrote came true....AND...nothing happened.
Wife yells at me about studying. It takes all of 10 minutes if you watch the whole video. As for reading the awake it has already been memorized because it is all reprints

What results are the letter writing having?
by purrpurr inmost jws are restricted to letter writing ministry right now.
of course i've heard a load of highly dubious 'encouraging experiences' about it already.. but what i'm wondering is how these letters are actually being received and what effect they are really having?.
i also find it disturbing that jws are being told to put their home address on the letters they send out.

Newsoaoer had an article about the witnesses and mormons in lockdown. A name you recognize from assemblies was telling about all wonderful experiences and return visits from letters and phone calls. What i have seen is 1 returned with a born againer rebuttal, a very few polite non commital conversations, and a pile of addressee moved. Here the return is the KH for safety and anonymity. Those same people who didnt answer the door also dont answer the phone or open junk mail
